Hi group.

I am looking for authors which support my new project (www.Vabok.com) by
submitting their self-written documents (stories, poems, manuals..
whatever).

Its like YouTube for user-written stuff... if you can write it down,
somebody else might want to read it.

Hopefully somebody is interessted and submits something... its still somehow
empty :-)

Best regards,
TFR

Where the host makes millions and the contributors think they get something for
nothing?

Hopefully, it will stay empty.

Sure the idea is to make a profit via adds, i wil not deny that. But i won`t
really expect that a portal for documents will ever get as big as youtube..
it was just an example for the general idea.

Atm, I would already be happy if i could pay the costs (Maybe you didnŽt
know, but domains and serverspace is not for free... apart from hours of
work to write this site, learn php and stuff).

So many peole are distributing their written stuff for free on their own
sites, so whats your problem with a general site that makes it easier to
find what you seek (as reader) and distribute it to others (as author)?

Regards,
TFR

I am not sure that size is that important, just the principle - the idea is to
make a profit - for you - not for the people producing the material.

I currently operate a number of domains, and rent the server space to host them.
Of course it is not free, but if you cannot afford to operate a domain, why
did you register it?

Learning and writing the various forms of code required is one of the benefits -
you may want to remember that generally, people have to pay to learn, rather
than get paid.

It does not make it any easier, it merely makes it more profitable for you.

If you wish to start a web publishing business, then good luck to you and I wish
you every success. However, pretending to be doing a favour to aspiring writers
by profiting from their work instead of them (rather than as well as) is
dishonourable if not dishonest.
