Hmmm.....
When I was in the US, the only decent programmes you could find were
on PBS. They were all produced by the BBC.
People still have a huge respect for the World Service all over the
planet. I chatted with a waiter in Thailand, who's excellent english
had been learned from listening to the World Service.
Lastly, with out someone trying to provide a service - not a profit
making enterprise, it all becomes game shows and adverts.
Oh and don't forget that www.BBC.co.uk is the most popular website in
the world by a long, long way.
